Cary Hunkel is the illustrator of "Discovering Wolves." Art and wildlife have always been a part of Cary's life. At age four, she started her art studies in a local artist's basement. No matter what the project, she always drew animals.After receiving her baccalaureate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, she returned to pursue her dream of becoming an artist, obtaining a degree in 1981.
As a wildlife artist, Hunkel has exhibited nationally. Her work has been chosen seven times for the prestigious Birds in Art and Wildlife: The Artist's View shows at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum in Wausau, Wisconsin. She has also exhibited in the Society of Animal Artists annual shows, Art and the Animal (New Jersey and Ohio). She received an Award of Merit from the National Art Exhibition of Alaska Wildlife, Anchorage Audubon Society. Hunkel was featured in an "Artist Vignette" in Wildlife Art News (January/February 1991).She lives in Madison, WI with a husband and son.

Nancy Lynch is a Madison, WI artist and freelance illustrator. She has a B.A. with a major in art and a minor in education from Donimican College. She also has a 2 year graphic arts degree from Madison area Techincal College. nancy was the artist in residence at St. Joseph's College in Rensselaer, Indiana. Her experience includes teaching 1st through 8th grade art and managing an educational toy store. She is married and has a son who is also studying the artis. Nancy specializes in children's illustration. She has illustrated several books and publications, including Quivery's Grove Heritage Cookbook.
